Heart

Temperance Heart, 2014 woodcut 29×22”.

Temperance Heart is a woodcut (printed from six blocks). The impetus for making the print was a request on the part of a former student who had been awarded a Purple Heart medal after serving and being wounded in Afghanistan. With the goal of coming up with funding for suicide prevention and treatment of TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder) among veterans, I undertook this project in the fall of 2013. The blocks were finished and ready to print in August of 2014. I am donating $300 from each print sold to causes supporting suicide prevention and treatment of TBI and PTSD of our veterans.

  1. Hello Heidi,

I saw your series of woodcut prints for this painting at the Rouke Art Museum. I was simply mesmerized by it. I am wondering if this print, or more specifically, the 2nd to last finished print of this series I’d available for purchase?

    Thank You!

    Heather
